Columbia County School Rezoning Plans 2015-2017

With all the new construction throughout Columbia County, in the city of Grovetown in particular, schools have become over crowded. We are definitely due for some new rezoning so that the classroom sizes would be more even throughout the county. There will be a new elementary school built off of William Few Parkway that is scheduled to open for the 2016-2017 school year. This will greatly help to lower the number of students in each classroom. Smaller classroom sizes means a better education for your children!

On January 27, 2015, The Columbia County Board of Education approved new rezoning plans for the next few up coming school years. All high school students that are affected by the 2015-2016 rezoning will be offered a one-time waiver to remain in their present high school for the remainder of their high school career. However, all students taking advantage of this waiver must provide their own transportation to and from school. The rezoning waiver forms will be located in the school office.

Below is a list of the areas that have been rezoned to a different school.

Columbia County is rapidly growing and it is impossible to precisely predict enrollment for anything past the 2015-2016 school year. Any proposed zoning plans after the 2015-2016 school year are subject to change.
